A former Military Administrator of Oyo State, Colonel Ahmed Usman, is dead at the age of 70.
According to Tribune, he died around 3:00 a.m. on Wednesday in Jos, the Plateau State capital, during an illness.
it was gathered that his remains are being moved to his village, Okura-Lafia, Kogi State, for burial according to Muslim rites today.
He was Born in 1951, the late Usman was a Military Administrator of Ondo State between September 1994 and August 1996, and later of Oyo State (August 1996 – August 1998) during the military regime of General Sani Abacha.
As the chairman of MILADS of the Odu’a states, he had a running battle with persons who bought assets of Odu’a companies, some of which were retrieved.
Ahmed Usman was born in 1951. After joining the army, postings included Second in Command, 192 Battalion, Abak and 141 Battalion, Kano (1983–1985), United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (1985–1986) and Battalion Commander G Amphibious, Elele Port Hartcourt (1990–1991).
